Our Editing Team

At Lux, our team is the backbone of each publication. Each editor is vital to making Lux's goals a reality. Below is our amazing  2022-23 editing team.

Shambhavi Singh

Editor-in-Chief

About the editor:

Shambhavi (She/her) is a sophomore, majoring in Digital Culture (Design) and minoring in Business. Being associated with Lux had been her goal ever since she was selected as a contributor in 2021. Seeing her work being published made her fall in love with the vision Lux has been inheriting since the beginning and has made her even proud to be a part of ASU’s vibrant art community. As Editor-in-Chief, she is willing to create a stronger identity for Lux and expand our community further, making new associations and digging more opportunities for our fellow artists.

Anne Caywood

Assistant Editor-in-Chief

About the editor:

Anne (She/her) is a senior at ASU studying English with a Creative Writing concentration. She comes from a tiny town in upstate New York where she became well acquainted with the cold before moving to the complete opposite climate to attend ASU. After graduation, she plans to move abroad to potentially pursue her master's degree as well as become a literary agent representing writers whose voices have been marginalized and presenting stories that need to be told. Anne hopes to further her connections with other writers and communities by participating with Lux Creative Review and she cannot wait to see the submissions for this year! In her free time, she likes to watch cat videos and animated shows, drink an absurd amount of coffee, play video games with pretty art and travel whenever and wherever she can!

Ritika Anand

About the editor:

Ritika is a junior majoring in Biological Sciences and minoring in Global Health. Originally born in India, Ritika moved around all over with her family before settling down in Arizona and is proud to have been here for more than 10 years. She enjoys being out in nature (when the Arizona heat permits it) and loves exploring new hiking trails and camping grounds whenever she can. Ritika has been a proud member of LUX since her sophomore year and is delighted to be returning as LUX's Marketing Director for a second year. Through being a part of LUX, Ritika hopes to continue to inspire students to engage in art and work on pieces that are meaningful to them!

Ruth Beadle

About the editor:

Ruth (She/her) is a Senior working on a Creative Writing major with a Fiction concentration with minors in French, Art History, and Mathematics. Many of her stories are inspired by her hometown of Tucson. When not in school, Ruth competes with the ASU Women's Club Water Polo team, reads, and watches terrible movies with friends. She wants to continue inviting people from all majors to contribute to Lux and to create a safe space for people to share their voices.

Marissa Armstrong

About the editor:

Marissa (She/her) is a Junior at ASU, from Los Angeles, California, double majoring in English and Film. At the age of 17, she became an award-winning and published poet. She feels lucky to say that her hobbies and schoolwork are one and the same: reading, writing, and film! She hopes to be a professional screenwriter someday, and live her life in writing rooms. Her goals at LUX are the same as her goals everywhere else: to contribute creative value and help to tell stories that matter.

Scott Adiconis

Music editor/Fiction associate

Scott (He/him) is an Arizona native in his senior year at ASU majoring in English: Creative Writing with a minor in Music. Scott spends much of his free time tending to his garden, reading, and writing his own works. In 2021, Scott received the Jane Shaw Jacobs award for his short story "Metal Man". At Lux, Scott aims to help provide an outlet for creators seeking to establish themselves and find footing within the local writing community.

About the editor:

Nailahni (She/her/hers) is a senior majoring in Art (Painting & Drawing) with a minor in Anthropology. She was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona and now living in Tempe! When she's not in the studio or working, Nailahni's ideal day would be spent drawing on her iPad while finishing an audiobook, or trying a new coffee shop and going thrifting. Along with her position at LUX she is the President of the Black Artist and Designers Association, Facilitator of Design for Rainbow Coalition, and a member of the School of Art Honors Studio. She has had her poetry published in an anthology at the age of 11, as well as her artwork published in Normal Noise Magazine. Nailahni's goal at LUX is to learn more about print publications to help further her dream of working in publishing.

Lilly Golich

About the editor:

Lilly Golich (She/her) is a senior at ASU studying English Literature. A Phoenix native, in her free time she enjoys going to concerts downtown, reading in bookstores, and writing in local coffee shops. In addition to being part of the staff at LUX, she also works as peer tutor for the Barrett Writing Center. As the poetry editor this year she hopes to encourage more students to be confident in their work and submit to the publication. Her favorite poem is Immunity by Mikko Harvey.

About the editor:

Ashley Gaskin (She/her) is a senior majoring in English (Creative Writing) and minoring in Art History and Studio Art. She has lived in Arizona her whole life and wants to move somewhere colder. Currently, she is testing moves in the field for figure skating and writing her debut novel. Her goals at LUX include: giving people a voice through art and creating a community.
