Gloria Chrisanty

About the editor:

Hi, my name is Gloria Chrisanty (she/her) and I’m a Barrett senior majoring in industrial design and minoring in art history. I was Lux’s Art Editor for the previous two publications before becoming one of the Editors-in-Chief for Lux this year. I love connecting with people through their creative work and I’m very thankful to be immersed in a community that shares the same love and passion for creating. As Co-Editor-in-Chief, I hope that Lux can continue to be a platform where people can express themselves in full Lux ~

Mason Yates

Fiction Editor

About the editor:

Hi! My name is Mason Yates and I am from a small town in the Midwest, but I currently live in Tempe, Arizona, where I am a junior at ASU and studying English.  I have a number of short stories published in a variety of magazines/webzines such as Land Beyond the World, Scarlet Leaf Review, Page & Spine, Dark Dossier, The Zodiac Review, and others.  Along with my publishing achievements, I have also had the opportunity to work with a couple different magazines, one of them being ASU’s other literary magazine Hayden’s Ferry Review.  When I am not writing or trying to build my career, I am found reading, playing guitar, watching a variety of movies, or hiking the many great trails of Arizona.

Amelie Clark

Art Editor

About the editor:

Hi! I'm Amelie and I am the art editor. I'm a sophomore majoring in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Sustainability. I have lived in Arizona for 5 years now. In high school, I also worked on a literary magazine. I was born in Paris and then lived overseas in the British Virgin Islands for 14 years, on an island called Tortola. This, and my parents being from France and England give me quite an international background. In addition to having a passion for the environment and STEM, I love to read or do anything creative (like DIY) and also enjoy photography and design.

Amritha Karthikeyan

Film Editor

Hi! I am a sophomore studying Sustainability. I love watching films and I have a blog where I review movies and TV shows called browngirlsguidetofilm.wordpress.com! My current obsession is Studio Ghibli films because I love animation, simple stories, and the nostalgia I get while watching them. In the future, I hope to bridge my love for sustainability and film by creating documentaries centered around community efforts towards sustainable practices. In my free time, I love to paint, take care of my plants, and start (and many times, not finish) new crafts projects!

Lillian Golich

Music Editor

About the editor:

Hi! My name is Lilly and I’m a junior at ASU majoring in English Lit and minoring in Spanish. I’m not studying music academically anymore, but it’s still something I’m really passionate about. I’ve taken music theory classes; I was in choir for most of school; and I’ve been writing and performing my own songs since 4th grade. I’m mainly a lyricist and I like collaborating with other musicians to work on instrumentals, but I do play piano too. In my free time I like to read, write, get coffee with friends, and go to concerts. My favorite genres are indie rock, indie pop, and alt rock. My favorite song changes weekly because I overplay everything I like but right now it’s Small Talk by Briston Maroney.

Isabelle Kinney

Associate Editor (Art/film/music)

About the editor:

Hi, I’m Isabelle Kinney! I’m a junior at Barrett majoring in French, Political Science, and Religious Studies (religion, politics, and global affairs), with certificates in Russia and Eastern European Studies, International Studies, and a minor in Justice Studies.  I am also currently learning Russian through the Critical Language Institute and SILC. In my free time, I enjoy learning about art, including talking with my friends about sculpture and fashion design.

Ritika Anand

About the editor:

I’m Ritika, a sophomore in Barrett studying Biological Sciences with a minor in Philosophy. Always involved in the arts, I have been learning both classical Hindustani singing and dancing for eleven years before completing a traditional graduation for both in 2019. Apart from that, I’m also involved in all sorts of artistic ventures, from playing the viola to sketching and painting, and you can often find me working on some art project or another in my free time. Currently on the pre-medical track, my goal is to one day work alongside kids as a pediatrician and hope to incorporate my love of art into my profession. While working as the Marketing Director in LUX, I aim to encourage and inspire people to continue to pursue any and all artistic passions they have.

Ruth Beadle

Associate Literary Editor

About the editor:

I am a Junior majoring in English Literature with minors in Math and Art History. I am originally from Tucson, which has been the source of inspiration for most of my short story fiction writing. While not daydreaming, I love to swim, read, and watch lovable terrible movies. I hope to use her role at Lux to create a closer community and help artists find their voice.

Veronica Gonzales

Associate Literary Editor

About the editor:

I’m Veronica, and I’m a junior who’s double majoring in Political Science and English. After I graduate, I plan on going to law school. Besides school, I’m currently a Writing Tutor at the Writing Center on campus. Although I love reading anything and everything that piques my interest, I’m incredibly passionate about poetry and prose. In my downtime, I love binge watching Love Island UK and spending time with my pets (2 geriatric Chihuahuas, a rowdy Australian Shepherd, and a lazy street cat whose decision to hop in my car turned into a roadtrip to his permanent home).
